Skill Assessment Quiz
Answer 5 quick questions to find the best overseas job role for your profile — based on your skills, experience, qualification and personal preferences. Results include live vacancy counts.
Which best describes your current work / skill background?
How your skills and qualifications affect your overseas career
Many first-time migrants underestimate the value of getting certified before going abroad. Here is how verified skills change your placement outcomes.
Higher salary offers
Certified welders, electricians and plumbers earn 20–40% more than uncertified workers in the same role. Employers in Europe and East Asia often reject uncertified candidates entirely for trade positions.
Faster placement
Workers with verified skills and CTEVT certificates are shortlisted faster because employers can trust the quality of their work without extended probation. This means you deploy sooner and start earning sooner.
Better job security
Skilled workers are harder to replace and more likely to have their contracts renewed. A first contract that gets renewed is significantly cheaper than the full cost of going abroad again — you avoid a second set of processing fees.
Access to more destinations
Japan SSW and Korea EPS programmes have strict skill-test requirements. European employers for engineering, healthcare and IT roles require verifiable qualifications. Skills are the ticket to the highest-paying destinations.
Upgrade your skills before going abroad
If the quiz recommends a role you are not yet certified for, consider getting certified before you apply. The upfront time and cost typically pays back within the first 2–3 months of your improved salary.
| Role | Certificate / Programme | Time Required |
|---|---|---|
| Welder | CTEVT Trade Test (Welding) | 1–3 months |
| Electrician | CTEVT Trade Test (Electrical) | 1–3 months |
| Driver (Heavy) | Heavy vehicle licence + CTEVT | 2–4 months |
| Caregiver (Japan/Israel) | NCC caregiver training | 3–6 months |
| Korean Manufacturing (EPS) | EPS-TOPIK Language + HRD skill test | 6–12 months |
| Japanese Factory/Care (SSW) | JFT-Basic + sector skill test | 6–12 months |

Common questions about the quiz
How accurate are the quiz recommendations?
The quiz provides a starting point based on your skills, experience, qualification and preferences. It narrows down Glocal Workforce Nepal's active role categories to the 3 best fits for your profile. For a confirmed match with a real job vacancy, speak to a placement officer who will assess your full profile and match you to live employer demand.
What if I have skills in multiple areas?
Choose the option that best describes your primary, strongest skill — the one you can demonstrate most confidently to an employer. If you have strong secondary skills, mention them when you speak to a placement officer. Cross-functional workers often qualify for more vacancies than the quiz can show.
Does my qualification level really matter?
Yes, significantly. Employers in Europe and East Asia are particularly qualification-focused. A CTEVT trade certificate can increase your salary offer by 20–40% compared to an uncertified worker in the same role. A bachelor's degree opens roles in healthcare, engineering and education that are not accessible without it.
I have no formal certificates — can I still work abroad?
Yes. Many roles in construction, housekeeping, security, factory work and farming require no formal certification. However, your wage offer will be lower than for certified workers. Consider enrolling in a CTEVT trade test programme (available for most trades) before going abroad — the cost is modest and the salary benefit is significant.
